First graders continue to explore EM Games this week learning how to play Penny Cup and/or Dime, Nickel, Penny Grab.
2nd graders returned to Pages for some more writing activities. Students have been writing stories from their journals in Pages with the intent to publish their work online when they are finished. I hope to have their first work published just before or after Winter break.
Third grade began posting their Charlotte’s Web and Food Chain projects to the web through their class wikis. You can find a list of all our class wikis at www.d102.org/groups. We hope to have all the projects posted by the end of next week but most of the classes have theirs up already. Feel free to leave a comment if you like their work.
4th grade is returning to classroom based projects after a couple weeks of Internet safety. Mrs. Pfeil’s class learned how to use Keynote to create presentations for their African American Heroes project. Mrs. Handwerker’s class continues to work on the regions of the United States with a series of state fact or fiction riddles. Mrs. Priestley’s class began piloting MyAccess, a web site that allows students to write and evaluate their work online. Expect to see a lot of work on that project throughout the year. Other classes worked in Study Island as they prepare for other projects.
