2.Then choose the download as a .jpg file choice. Let Cameroid convert your file and open in a new window.
3.File Save As_give this photo a name and save to your Desktop
4.Open Microsoft Word _New Blank Document
5.Drag your photo onto the blank document. Underneath, compose a short story about the picture. Describe an adventure you might have had as this “character”. What would the character say about him or herself? What is the story of the picture? Be creative.

First – you will be watching a video as a class. It is short, 20 minutes give or take a few minutes. The video is called “Stuff Happens. Bill Nye in the Garage”.
“Scientist Bill Nye heads into the garage to explore the transportation choices we face every day. Examining our dependence on oil, friends stop by to share ways to reduce pollution and make our vehicles more environmentally friendly. In this program, riding a bike is proposed as the most efficient mode of transportation, while a look at fuel alternatives and electric cars reveals the pros and cons of each option.”

Today’s assignment will be a little different. You will be visiting a website, reading the information and then summarizing what you learned in a Word Document.

On the left side, there are several links to pages and activities. We will be choosing the Jump Back in Time page.
When you get to this page, you will see on the right, you’ll see and activity called “Pick a Date to Visit / How About Your Birthday”.
Choose from the drop down menu the month and date of when you were born and choose Go.
The results you will find might be very interesting! Read through the historical information about the day and month of when you were born. There may be more than one paragraph to read so check the arrows to move from page to page.
Once you are done reading, think about what you just read. What happened on this date? Was it an event? Something interesting about a famous person? Did this day lead to another important event? What can you share with us?
Now, open Word. 
This should be in your dock. If it is not, ask a classmate to help you find it. It might be in your Mac HD, Application, Microsoft Office folder.
Choose a New Document and type your Name, Teacher/Grade at the top. Your assignment is to in a paragraph form, no less than 6 sentences, respond to and summarize what you learned. I do not know when your birthday is or know what happened in history on that date so explain, comment, or give me your opinion so that I can learn something interesting too.
Please save this document on your desktop or in your documents folder. We will be using them tomorrow in class.
