There’s an app for that

Have you ever heard the saying “ there’s an app for that”?  Well, it sometimes seems like there is an app for just about anything and everyone!  The following apps are for students.  Check this page weekly for added apps.

These are i-device specific (iPhone, iPod, iPad).  If you have another mobile device, there are apps for those as well.  You would need to check the mobile store for the particular device and follow those download and purchase directions.

The following three apps below are featured by Apple as impressive apps for learning math.  They are $2.99 each for the iPad  Some of our classrooms are using a few of the Jungle Math apps.  These can be found at Jungle Education

-Jungle Time – Learn how to tell time.  Tutorials for beginners, three different clock styles, double clock math problems, tells time in multiple languages with native speakers

-Jungle Fractions – Name, compare and add fractions easily, convert fractions to proper and improper format, visual pies for fraction understanding, switches native languages easily

-Jungle Coins – Count coin values, calculate change, identify and compare coins, hear monetary amounts in native language

Another terrific resource to find the app that best meets your student’s needs is a site called appstoreapps.com  This is a link to the top 50 free educational apps   App Store Apps   The site gets updated daily.
