It's hard to believe we are already in the month of May! People always talk about how quickly the time goes.....and they are right. Even though summer is approaching, learning never ends.

As we wind down the school year, I would like to remind everyone of some summer safety tips:
How can you get your child to practice writing this summer? Suggest fun projects like these that appeal to her interests.
Like an actor rehearsing his lines or a batter working on his swing, your child does homework to practice what he learns in school. And if he’s like most youngsters, homework brings occasional challenges. Here are solutions to common problems he might face.
Are your children searching the Internet at home? Are they using Google, Bing or Yahoo to do their searching? We have asked them these questions and the majority of students have said these are the search engines they are using at home. While we understand that these are valuable tools for searching, we are working with the children to learn other search tools that are available for them to use that are more kid-friendly and developmentally appropriate. We would like to share some of these resources with you, so you can encourage your children to use them at home as well as at school.
It's time for the annual BASIC Awareness Public Service Announcement Contest. Grab a partner or work on your own to create a 30 second video on one of the elements of BASIC (Bullying, Alcohol and Drug Awareness, Social Networking, Internet Safety, and Cell Phone Usage).
March is Brain Injury Awareness Month
