Students currently in grades K-2 can join the VOICEs program that emphasizes early literacy and oracy through engaging, thematic instruction.
Students currently in grades 3–7 can choose a morning or afternoon half-day session filled with exciting instruction every day!
📅 June 9 – June 30, 2025
🗓 Monday–Friday (No class Thursday, June 19)
🔹 AM Session: 8:30 A.M. – 11:00 A.M.
🔹 PM Session: 12:30 P.M. – 3:00 P.M.
💲Cost: $375 per half-day session
🚍 Note: Bussing is not available for this program

Each 2.5-hour session includes two engaging classes!
Start in your first class, then switch halfway to your second — double the fun, every day!

🔬 Investigating with Microscopes!
To kick off their unit on cells, students got curious first! They built a collaborative question board packed with wonders about time, skin, bones, and how our bodies heal. 🧠💭 Then, they explored using microscopes for the first time!
This wall of questions isn't just decor, it's the launchpad for a hands-on learning journey into the microscopic world! 🧬✨
🚍 Walking in Lincoln’s Footsteps 🇺🇸
This year, 207 of our 7th graders and 18 amazing teachers embarked on an unforgettable overnight adventure to Springfield!
📍 They explored Abraham Lincoln's home, tomb, New Salem, and the Presidential Library and Museum—diving deep into the legacy of our 16th president.
🏛️ Stops also included the Illinois State Military Museum, the Old State Capitol, and the current state capitol.
🕺 The trip wrapped up with a fun-filled DJ dance party—capping off two days of learning, laughter, and memories!

Mr. Jenkin and Mrs. Vettraino Stott are giving 6th-grade orchestra students a chance to take the baton and lead their classmates! After weeks of hard work, eight students auditioned as student conductors, bravely leading a piece in front of their peers. 👏

Just like a mosaic brings together different pieces to create something beautiful, the Mosaic talent show at AJHS does the same with student performers! This year’s 15th anniversary was record-breaking, featuring 76 incredible student acts and emcees! 🎶🎤
But Mosaic is more than a show, it's a community. 💙 Students selected Mr. Craig Podolski’s family’s GoFundMe as their charity, raising $360 through donations and concessions.

🏆 Successful 7th Grade Girls Volleyball Season🏐🎉
After an impressive 9-1 regular season, the team showed their determination in the playoffs defeating Twin Groves in the semifinals and clinching the conference championship with a hard-fought victory over Daniel Wright in the finals. They finished their season with an outstanding 11-1 record! 🎉🏐 Thanks to Coach Cummins for your support this season.
The Aptakisic A volleyball team, led by Coach Nitahara, capped off a perfect 12-0 season with a dramatic conference championship victory! After defeating Woodlawn in the semifinals, they faced their toughest test against Daniel Wright. Trailing 13-19 in the final set, Aptakisic staged a thrilling comeback to win 25-23. 💪🙌

Team Aptakisic showcased their mathematical talent at the Lake County Chapter MathCounts competition. Competing against students from 11 schools across Lake County, the team demonstrated incredible problem-solving skills and determination.
D102 is thrilled to announce that Team Aptakisic placed 3rd overall, earning a spot at the MathCounts State Competition! Congratulations!

With a 13-3 season record, a 2nd place finish at Regionals, and another 2nd place at Conference, our wrestlers are ready for Sectionals this Saturday at Hawthorn Middle School North! 💪🏆
The goal? Punching their ticket to State! 🏅 The top 4 wrestlers in each weight class will move on to the IESA State Tournament at NIU on March 7-8.
