Where is the school office?
The school office is located just inside the main entrance of Meridian School.

What should I do when my child is absent?
For absences due to illness, doctor appointments, or vacation, please call the Student Absence Line at 847-955-3503 by 8:30 AM for morning students or 12:30 PM for afternoon students on the day of the absence. Leave a message with your name, your student’s name, the reason for absence, and the teacher’s name.

If I have a question about the bus pick up/drop off time, who should I call?
Please call First Student Transportation at 847-634-0868 if the bus is running late or you are unsure what time your child will be picked up/dropped off.

If I need to change my child’s transportation or we are moving–who should I contact?
Please contact Jenny Share (p: 847-955-3501; e: Email Jenny Share) with any changes to bus routes or if you move. Please allow 4 business days for any route changes.

If I drive my child to school, where should I drop him/her off?
For DROP-OFF please pull into the designated drop-off lane in front of Meridian School. Please do not leave your car. A staff member will come to your car and assist students to the building.

For PICK-UP, please pull into the designated pick-up lane. Staff will release your child to you once your car is in the park. Parents/Guardians will get out and assist the student into the car. Cars proceed when the car in front moves forward.

If another caregiver is picking up my child, how do I let the school know?
If another caregiver is picking your child up on a regular basis, please request a transportation form from Jenny Share, Email Jenny Share This lets us know the caregivers and schedule for who is picking up your child.

If there is a sudden change and a different person is picking up your child that same day, please send a note at the beginning of the school day or call the school office at 847-955-3500 to let us know who is picking up your child that day. The office will communicate this to the classroom teacher. Teachers are unable to check their email while teaching. If it is emailed to the teacher for a change that day, the message may not be received in time.

If I need to get my child out of class during the day, what should I do?
Please call the Meridian School office at 847-955-3500.

If my child arrives late to school, what should I do?
If you arrive after 8:30 am (morning students) or 12:30 pm (afternoon students), you must park your car in a legal parking spot, take your child into the office and sign them in. A secretary will call down to the classroom and a staff member will assist your child to class.
