D102 utilizes the I Love U Guys Standard Response Protocol for emergencies.

Video camera monitoring occurs on the premises of D102 schools. Monitoring occurs in locations in which there is no reasonable expectation of privacy for students, staff, or visitors.

Each D102 school building is equipped with first aid kits, AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), and “Stop the Bleed” kits. “Stop the Bleed” tourniquet kits are located in the AED cabinets.

Students and staff participate in law enforcement, fire, tornado, earthquake, and bus safety drills. Drills are conducted in partnership with the Buffalo Grove  Fire and Police Departments. Drills of this nature are required by law and practiced routinely to ensure students understand the procedure and will be prepared to respond quickly and calmly in case of an authentic emergency. Please contact your child's school if you have questions or concerns about safety drills.

D102 conducts regular safety meetings to review procedures and has an annual safety meeting with the Buffalo Grove Fire and Police Departments.

Bullying is a violation of a person’s right to feel physically or emotionally safe. Incidents of physical assault, verbal abuse, or electronic means of threats, extortion, or violence are not acceptable at school or at school-sponsored activities and will not be tolerated. If you are concerned that your child is being bullied, please contact your building administrator or school social worker.  Please refer to the Behavior and Discipline section for more information on the district’s guidelines regarding bullying or Board Policy 7:180.
